Understanding when and how SQL Server waits to continue executing can be a powerful tool for troubleshooting problems with SQL Server. In this session SQL Server MVP Jonathan Kehayias dives into how to look at and use wait statistics to determine the cause of performance problems inside of SQL Server. Learn what wait types mean, which types are signs of trouble, and how to determine the root cause of your performance problems in the shortest time possible.

Jonathan Kehayias is currently employed as a Principal Consultant and Trainer for SQLskills, one of the best-known and most respected SQL Server training and consulting companies in the world. Jonathan is a SQL Server MVP and one of the few Microsoft Certified Masters for SQL Server 2008, outside of Microsoft. Jonathan frequently blogs about SQL Server, presents sessions at PASS Summit, SQLBits, SQL Connections and local SQL Saturday events, and has remained a top answerer of questions on the MSDN SQL Server Database Engine forum since 2007.

Food and drinks will be provided by TEK Systems. As usual there will be SWAG at the end of the meeting.

Our meetings are free and open to the public. The doors open at 6:00 pm and food arrives shortly after that allowing time to grab something to eat and networking with your peers. The meeting will start at 6:30 with announcements and open floor discussions followed by the speaker for the night.
