The filmmaker, sailor and author will discuss his newest project THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ICE as part of the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project Film and Lecture Series.
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ICE is a true story of survival, offering a glimpse into the treacherous 8,500-mile journey from Newport, Rhode Island to the Northwest Passage. The five month adventure takes on even deeper meaning as Theobald’s grown son and step-children decide to join in unexpectedly as crew, after years of separation and estrangement. Once on board Bagan, the 57-foot Nordhavn trawler, an unexpected healing journey begins.

About the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project:
The 34th America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project is Global “Call to Action” Campaign that embraces the connection between sailing and the ocean. Our overall goal of the Healthy Ocean Project is to create awareness around the problems that face the ocean and inspire individual action around the solutions that exist. The project focuses on three core issues: Marine Protected Areas, sustainable seafood, and marine debris/plastics.
America's Cup Local Healthy Ocean Project partners are: Aquarium of the Bay, Gulf of the Farallon National Marine Sanctuaries, Mission Blue, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Save the Bay, Marine Mammal Center, and Thank You Ocean.
America's Cup Global Healthy Ocean Project Partners are: IUCN, OceanElders, MissionBlue, One World One Ocean, Aquarium of the Bay, Sailors for the Sea, and Conservation International.
