Armand Cottin of Cottin & Freres acquired the Burgundy domaine of Laboure-Roi in 1974. From its start in 1832, the small yet prestigious Burgundy negociant house--established in Nuits-Saint-Georges had been firmly rooted in the local winemaking community, enjoying an excellent reputation for its high quality wines.
The benchmark of our Sherlock's Hand Picked Portfolio are the J. Sanders selections from Burgundy. These wines are the namesake of Jim Sanders, one of Atlanta's original fine wine retailers and wine educators. Jim was responsible for bringing fine French wines to Atlanta while educating a vast number of consumers, wine industry members, politicians, doctors, lawyers, etc...the list is long and distinguished.
Today, we at Sherlock's continue the J. Sanders legacy with our negociant in Burgundy, Cottin Freres. The style and the quality are the same, the look has been updated. From the Cote-de-Nuits to Beaujolais, J. Sanders wines are the best quality and value from the preeminent growing regions of Burgundy showcasing the Pinot Noir, Gamay Beaujolais and Chardonnay grape varieties.
We are honored to have directly from Burgundy, Miss Emilie Terrier US Export Manager of Cottin Freres to conduct "la degustation".
