John lives in Scottsdale, Arizona where he has been practicing yoga since 1995 and teaching since 2000. Having traveled to study Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in India and having enjoyed the culture of our generation, he has a refreshing outlook between old-world tradition and new-world inspiration. John has traveled all over Arizona and the U.S. to share his spirit for yoga. His class focuses on deepening the student’s attention physically, inspiring with dynamic verbal cueing, while staying rooted to the breath and enjoying the experience as it unfolds. John is a master vinyasa teacher and teaches with undeniable technique, clear language, and warm laughter. His current yoga residence is in Scottsdale with the Life Power Yoga studios.
Some of John’s most influential teachers include Dave Oliver (his step-father), Tim Miller, David Swenson, Lino Miele, Dharma Mittra, and Maty Ezraty. He is E-RYT 500 and has a B.A. in Theatre from ASU. Slow Flow & Deep Stretch: Chillax The perfect way to slow things down, yet keep it deep. With intelligent guidance through standing poses and giving time to longer holds we can detail the experience from pose to pose. Eventually finding our way to the floor, we will dig our way into some deeper seated postures, all while listening to down-tempo music, followed by pranayama (breath control) & guided meditation. Let the healing begin. From Force to Freedom: Forward Folds and Twists There is little argument that the western mind in known for pushing through any obstacle. Yoga is often practiced this way and if you’ve been at it for any amount of time you may have recognized that pushing can lead to injury or frustration. Step back and learn the right places to work from in order to progress intuitively and positively. Learn how to practice without force and find the freedom you’re looking for! A block, strap, and blanket are highly recommended.
