The Young Real Estate Professionals extremely excited to have Mr. John Bucksbaum, founder and CEO of Bucksbaum Retail Properties and former Chairman and CEO of General Growth Properties, Inc. (NYSE: GGP) to speak at our next speaker luncheon on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Bucksbaum Retail Properties is a fully integrated owner and developer of retail real estate. In addition to suburban malls and urban oriented retail developments the company is incorporating office, residential and hospitality uses into its projects. They are actively involved in understanding the relationship between a high-quality of life and the built environment. Bucksbaum Retail Properties is also adapting and reusing existing real estate and understand the demand for physical space and are adept at bridging short term market needs with long term user goals.
Mr. Bucksbaum received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Denver, Denver, Colorado in 1978. Professional affiliations include the following:

past Chairman of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at The Wharton School

In addition Bucksbaum serves on the boards of the University of Chicago Hospitals, The Field Museum, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, USA Cycling Team, World T.E.A.M. Sports and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Advisory Board of the Chicago Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.
