Who should attend?

Attendees that are seeking any combination of the following: employment, seeking to recareer, looking for information to be a better job seeker, pursuing support services to make themselves more employable and related topics.

How is this conference different?

This conference aims to differentiate itself through a holistic approach. Attendees can attend seminars, learn about existing resources in the community previously unknown, make contacts, begin the interview process or extend the information seeking process.

The conference consists of a coalition of different parties within Louisville whose individual missions contribute to the conference mission but may not be able in themselves to satisfy the stated goals of the conference.

Attending Employers:

Some 20 employers will be on location, including: LG&E, JCPS, Kentucky One Health, UPS, GE, Hyatt Regency, Hosparus, Louisville Metro Government, Brown-Forman, amd Stock Yards Bank. Although there will be no on the spot hiring job seekers will be seriously considered for positions for which they have needed skills, experience and qualifications.

What professional skills and competencies have attending employers shared they seek?

Employers will be seeking a broad range of skills in areas of healthcare, logistics, call center relations, technology, hospitality, and customer service.

Attending Support Organizations:

Service providers will include: Jewish Family and Career Services, Catholic
Charities, Business First, Louisville Urban League, HIRE
(GLI’s “Higher Income Requires Education” group, representing all higher education institutions), and Passport.

Event Programming/Speakers

Cost free workshops will feature timely topics: Cracking the New-Economy Job Market; Finding Work Without Losing Heart; Growing Your Career; and Relating Your Skills to the Job You Want. 

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The Louisville Free Public Library Main Branch has plentiful adjecent parking as well as direct access to TARC bus routes.

Can I update my registration information?

You are welcome to revisit the EventBrite RSVP system and complete a revised registration. Bring the revised one to the event as it will help with entrance advisement.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We prefer that you bring your registration ticket to the event. Alternative arrangements can be made if you forget it which might include completing a paper form on site.

 The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

As an open event to job seekers, you are welcome to share news of the event. If your name has changed since registration we will be able to locate your prior name on-site. If another attendee goes in your place they should expect to register on a paper form upon arrival to the event.

Our vision is to create a full employment Metro Louisville through the formulation of a collaborative and working coalition consisting of employers, eduational resources, government, civic, business and social service providers to meet the variant needs of the unemployed and underemployed population of the Metro Louisville area.
