Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated is the oldest and largest African-American family organization in the United States. The Montgomery County, Maryland Chapter was chartered in 1962 by the late Henrietta B. Franklin, a Montgomery County Maryland educator. Over the years, the Chapter has become an integral part of the Montgomery County community, exposing children to educational and cultural opportunities, extolling the importance of community service, and helping them develop leadership skills and life-long friendships.

Heritage Inaugural Event Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the attire for the event?

The attire is semi-formal for all (adults and children/teens) attendees.

2. Where can I park?

There is parking garage across the street from the venue.

3. Can I use a credit card to purchase drink tickets for the bar?

No. The bar tickets can only be purchased using cash. There is no ATM on site.

4. Will there be a coat check?

Yes. The fee for the coat check is $2 per coat.

5. Will my child/teen be able to join me in the adult ball room.

No. The children/teens are restricted to the rooms designated for them. You may join them at anytime, however, they cannot join you in the adult ball room because alcoholic beverages will be served. When you check your child into their respective room, your cell phone number will be collected for use if any emergency arises.

6. What activities are planned for the children/teens?

For children aged 5 to 12, there will be crafts, movies and dancing. For teens aged 13 to 17, DJ Premonition will spin the latest and greatest in "clean" teen hits. There will be kid friendly food and beverages for both groups.

7. Can I drop my child off and attend another event at a different location?

No. We do require that a parent /guardian or other designated adult be on the premises at all times.
