Event Details

On Saturday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. enjoy a special evening with the jazz quartet Jimmy Masters’ Other Borders performing a free concert at the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland St. The band will play jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, contemporary jazz and original compositions. The quartet features J.C. Kuhl (pronounced Cool) a leading voice on the Richmond jazz scene; Trey Pollard an exceptional, bright, creative force on guitar; and drummer Brian Jones, a leading proponent of the creative music scene in Richmond as well as instructor of drums at William & Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University. They are all led by bassist Jimmy Masters, who has performed in greater Hampton Roads for over 25 years. Jimmy has made many visits to the library with Stephen Bennett, the Gurleys, Jae Sinnett and other talented musicians.

The program is being offered free of charge as part of the library’s Centennial Celebration Series, made possible by Lee and Betty Ann Griffin, marking 100 years of public library service in Williamsburg. No tickets or reservations are required and doors will open at 7 p.m. For more information, call the library at (757) 259-4070 or visit www.wrl.org. Jimmy Masters
