THE LOLA SRW F3,

THE WORLDS FINEST RACING SCHOOL CAR

This series is open to graduates of our Formula 3 Racing School, Stage 3 program and those with equivalent racing experience.  Please call to confirm your eligibility.

The Jim Russell F3 Racing Series invites drivers to follow in the tire tracks of the school’s world-famous alumni, offering a complete race weekend format. Each competitor will take part in a full day of practice on day one, as well as undertaking a refresher course on race start procedures. On the second day, drivers will be fitted out with a fresh set of slicks before embarking on practice and qualifying sessions. After staking their claim on the grid, participants will set off on a 25-minute race, complete with fully-professional race formation and start, providing them with a tantalizing glimpse of what a career in professional racing could offer.

Tapping into the rich racing traditions of Jim Russell’s first US-based school, this pioneering series stars the world’s most advanced racing school car, the super-fast, super-safe Lola Simraceway Formula 3, on one of America’s most challenging road courses, the legendary Sonoma Raceway.

Its unique, modular approach to pricing, which allows competitors to easily control their costs, brings thrilling formula racing firmly back within reach of every driver. With at least eight race weekends each season, and two races per weekend, full qualifying and race sessions can be purchased for an all-inclusive price of just $1,295!

CHAMPIONSHIP

All races carry points for the Jim Russell Championship. Drivers wishing to compete in this championship must complete at least six races. Those entering more than six races will have their best six scores used in the final championship calculations.

FAQS

1.    Do I need my driver’s license to race a SRW-F3?

No, a license is not required.  In fact, our racing school is open to drivers 14 years and older.  Please check with a racing consultant if you want to race, but don’t meet the normal age requirement.

2.     Is the School of Racing only for racers who want to make a career out of racing?

No, the School of Racing is a great course for anyone from the novice to the seasoned veteran.  The skills taught in any of our courses will help on the track as well as in every day driving.  These courses do not have any age maximum, as long as you have a clean bill of health.

3.     Can I bring my own equipment?

Yes, but your driving suit needs to be a minimum of 2-layer nomex, and your helmet must meet current Snell approval.  If you need racing shoes, they are provided to you at no charge, but please make arrangements with a racing consultant at time of registering.

4.    Can I bring spectators?

Yes, you can bring your fans to watch or take photos for you. If they want to be included for your breakfast and lunch, there will be a nominal fee required, and please let us know upon enrollment registration so the catering can be set-up in advance.

5.     How do I get my SCCA license?

You are eligible for an SCCA racing license upon successful completion of Stage 1 & 2 School of Racing courses. Once you have completed the courses, you can request an application from your racing consultant, and they will help you through the process.

6.    Can I mount my own camera to the car for my course?

Yes, there are selected cameras that can be used on our car. Please check with a racing consultant for additional information.
