Kitchen Thyme's series Jewish Soul Food continues with a menu featuring the holiday Tu B'Shvat, the Rosh Hashanah of the trees. It is customary to praise the land of Israel – “a land of wheat and barley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey” and to partake of its bounty. There is nothing like fresh figs or pomegranates or grapes. And then there are all those platters of dried fruit…Many home cooks struggle with trying to think of new and interesting fruity recipes for the holiday. We will be preparing some Tu B’shvat recipes with fruit to help you enjoy the holiday and participate fully in praising the land.
