SoMa Shul monthly schmooze with free drinks in a Jewish desert!
San Francisco -- Chabad SF’s latest innovation is the SoMa Shul, sponsoring Happy Hour at The Hub Bay Area, 4th Friday of every month. Featuring free drinks, live music, a Blue Angel Vodka Bar and of course challah, the event draws downtown San Francisco people who have few venues for traditional Jewish Torah observance in the local vicinity.
“We’ll have an open bar, and delicious hors d'oeuvres for you to enjoy,” says Rabbi Shmulik Friedman who moved to San Francisco to open the new SoMa Shul. “Stick around if you’d like for a shabbos prayer at 7, or just come by to meet others in the tribe for a drink before the weekend begins.”
Located at The Hub Bay Area, SF School of Digital Film Making at 925 Mission Street, Suite 108 in San Francisco has graciously opened its doors to the SoMa Shul. SoMa Shul Happy Hour happens the last Friday of every month, followed by prayer services at 7 pm, and then Saturday morning Torah services and noontime lunch. For more information visit www.chabadsf.org/soma.
“Join us after work, and get your schmooze on with Chabad of SF,” says Rabbi Yosef Langer of Chabad SF. “Join us for a free happy hour with challah and cocktails at the Hub.” Everything will be kosher.
The SoMa Shul, a project of 'Chabad of SF' - Rabbi Yosef Langer, located in SoMa / Downtown San Francisco, is a place for people to get together and celebrate their Judaism. We host Friday Night Services, Happy Hour, Shabbat Dinners, Shabbos morning Prayers with a Chulent Kiddush. We hold 'Lunch N' Learn' classes and lectures during the week, and we will host the first daily morning Minyan, Downtown San Francisco. We plan to have many more programs and activities opened to the entire community. The other daily minyan (prayer service) taking place in downtown is at The Mitzvah Cable Car - also a project of Chabad SF.
