Event Details

Jerry Dugger's Acoustic Blues Caravan is an acoustic journey through the blues from the 1920's till today. Solo and group performances will keep you on the edge of your seat while their personal journeys through The Blues will hold you captivated through the night.

JERRY DUGGER - I was born in The Bronx and raised in Harlem, and I caught the music bug early in life, listening to my parents Ida and Alfonza sing around the house, singing with them in church, and listening to their collection of 78rpm records. I always loved to listen to and sing to the radio, I guess that would be how I developed my voice, and eclectic musical tastes, which are still evolving. Through an amazing set of circumstances, a late night walk through Washington Square Park and a life changing encounter with Matteus Mederer (who was busking under the arch), I found myself being introduced to the New York City Blues scene by way of the now infamous Dan Lynch Blues Bar. I spent thirteen years studying The Blues there, watching and performing with Bill Dicey, The Holmes Brothers and eventually hosting the Saturday and Sunday afternoon jam sessions. This little bar became the hub of the Blues scene in NYC. Many legendary Blues musicians, Johnny Copeland, James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, and Stevie Ray Vaughan (just to name a few) stopped by to say hello and sing a song on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Dan lynch was also the launching pad for many up and coming Blues artists. These days my work is focused in New York City and the Tri State area, I work regularly at Terra Blues, The Red Lion and Lucilles Grill at B. B. Kings Blues Club. My Bands The Dugger Brothers, The Harlem Blues Project, and Brother Dugger are great vehicles for the exploration of The Blues.

HUGH POOL - Hugh Pool is an American musician, songwriter, and producer who plays guitar in a unique style that melds traditional Delta blues, country music and classic and psychedelic rock and roll. His instrument of choice is a National Steel Triolian, a resonator guitar somewhat like a Dobro, played with a spark plug wrench through an Ibanez TS-9 overdrive pedal and a Dunlop Dyna comp compressor. He also plays Harmonica, Banjo, Lap Steel, Mandolin, sings and plays standard electric guitars.

BIG FRANK MIRRA - Big Frank is a traditional electric and acoustic blues musician known for his powerful vocals and bottleneck slide style. He has been a fixture in the NYC Tri-State blues scene for decades. While listening to Rock and Roll as a teenager, Frank's ear was attracted to the blues elements evident in many of those tunes. His love of traditional blues and curiosity drove him to become a subject matter expert about its history. His playing style reflects his affinity for these traditional roots.
