Jeffrey Bowman Heart Fund & Colorado AED Access for All

Dear Friends,

On August 13th, 2007, Jeffrey Bowman had a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) while at high school football practice in Montana. Although there were three Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) on the school's campus, no one retrieved them. Jeff was in cardiac arrest (which resulted in no  oxygen to the brain) for more than 20 minutes before Flight for Life arrived and used an AED to re-start his heart. Jeffrey was taken off of life support on August 20th and passed away. He was buried in Estes Park, Colorado, on September 7th - his 18th birthday.

In 2009, the Bowman family created the "Jeffrey Bowman Heart Fund," to promote the placement, awareness and education of AEDs in schools and athletic venues. We have raised more than $30,000 to aid in this mission. The Jeffrey Bowman Memorial 3-Club, 9-Hole Golf "Lollapalooza" is an opportunity for friends, family and those interested in supporting this cause, to enjoy a truly fun, "Jeffrey-style" golf outing and remember a promising young man, while raising funds to prevent more tragedies like this.

The goal of the Golfapalooza is to raise dollars for defibrillators to donate to area schools, athletic teams and organizations as well as conduct trainings, heart screenings and provide education.

We are fortunate to partner with Colorado AED Access for All (CAAFA), a non-profit organization who's mission is: To have an AED publicly accessible everywhere you Work, Play, and Pray.

It is with deep gratitude that we thank everyone who is playing, donating and supporting this very important mission!

Bob, Troy and Alex Bowman

There have been more than 200,000 deaths from

Sudden Cardiac Arrest this year.

*Many of these victims could have been saved by

early acess to an AED.
