In addition- This year after the 2013 UAPB Homecoming game, on October 19, the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Economic Research and Development Center, (UAPB-ERDC) and The College of Aspiring Artists (TCAA) celebrate a new institutional partnership and host their first production and presentation of some of their best talents. The new initiative, The College of Aspiring Artist Creative Economy Network kicks off with The AR 1000— “From Recruitment to Placement: The Business of Talent Creation.” The program will activate 1,000 students/artisans with an unprecedented opportunity. Unlike college athletes, this model allows the intermediate talent to “earn while they learn” by utilizing a revolutionary business model to produce, promote and advance their creative careers through the program. Students can and will be dually enrolled and earn degrees and professional creative economy certifications along the way.
The 2013 UAPB Homecoming “Give the Dream” Edutainment Voucher— Now available and when purchased by October 19, 2013, pays student’s full registration/application fee for the first term, (January-June, 2014) of TCAA’s Creative Economy Edutainment Coursework and Artists/Creative Enterprise Development Program. Voucher holders will also have paid admission to the December 7, symposium presented by TCAA and UAPB-ERDC and will receive one free course. The symposium is limited to the first 200 registrants, but all voucher holders can access the online course.
Beyond the successful August 28, 2013, TCAA, Mosaic Templars, and UAPB-ERDC Institutional Salute to the 50th Anniversary of March on Washington and the announcement of the new edutainment college, the next few months the institutional collaborative will focus on recruitment and enrollment. The December symposium features the presentation and overview of the creative economy, the new development model along with showcasing of new talents and enterprises that compete for scholarship opportunities. The online and ERDC campus opens during King Holiday week 2014.
