Jazz Vespers Concert with the Metro Jazz Voices
Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EST)
"Metro Jazz Voices" was formed in 2008 and is a collaborative "labor of love" for several local, & accomplished singers and musicians. Five years, and many rehearsals later, the group has performed all over the midwest, and has added several original arrangements to their reperatoire. "Metro Jazz Voices" performs jazz, gems from the American songbook, Pop tunes, Blues, Latin, Acapella, & more, in stunning, 4-part vocal harmony. The voices are Carl Cafanga (tenor voice + Saxaphone and flute) Meri Slaven (alto/soprano) Trish Shandor (alto/soprano) & Jordan Schug (baritone) Backed by the wonderful Scott Gwinnell trio! Each member of the group is a force to be reckoned with individually, and together are truly greater than the sum of their parts. They've been called "Detroit's answer to "Manhattan Transfer" a description they all happen to like very much, however don't want to be limited to. The concert should be entertaining, fun, inspiring, and engaging......all for a good cause!
