Jazz in the Sculpture Garden
Every Friday evening in summer, a crowd of Washingtonians gathers in the National Sculpture Garden to listen to live jazz music and picnic with friends. On August 16, ISSS will be there! Hang out on the grass with us and enjoy the music and the pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. You'll be right on the Mall if you want to wander over to the monuments for sightseeing later. The concert is FREE but please register if you want to join us so we can plan! Friends and spouses are welcome. More information about Jazz in the Garden program, from the National Gallery of Art’s website, is here.
What to bring
Bring a blanket, sheet, or towel to sit on and a portable dinner. Alternatively, food/beverages are available for purchase on site.
Meet at College Park Metro at 3PM (by the farecard machines inside the station). We’ll travel downtown together and grab a spot on the grass before it gets too crowded. The music starts at 5 pm and ends at 8pm. Feel free to stay as long as you like. If you want to meet the group downtown, contact firstname.lastname@example.org in advance to exchange phone numbers. We will do our best to accommodate you, but please be warned that if it gets very crowded we may not have enough space!
In case of rain,
this event may be cancelled. We will send an email to all registered attendees if ISSS is canceling the excursion.
Hope to see you there!
