Next meet is January 23, 2013 beginning at 6:45PM
- till we drop at the
Gallery Theatre in Hollywood Ca.

We will welcome Videographer/Editor/Director Bill Davis who will fly out from Arizona and show us how he cut a 14 camera music video in FCP X. Plus we welcome Dan Lebental ACE(IRON MAN 1 and 2, ELF, COWBOYS AND ALIENS and many more) who will show off the soon to be released editing app for the iPad, TouchEdit. Plus, the Cloud is here so you might as well get used to it. Patrick Sculley will be down to show us Pixelflow, quite possibly the simplest and most full featured video sharing app out there. Plus another round of Stump The Gurus and of course, World Famous Raffle.)

Agenda (subject to change)

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus Philip Hodgetts, Monica Daniel Bill Davis and Andrew Balis as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:30PM - Announcements
lafcpug sponsor AJA will give us the latest. Also if we have time, this is your time. Get up and tell us something about yourself. Ask for a job, offer a job. Whatever you want. Keep it brief. I also want to update everyone on the new projector and discuss ways to raise money to buy it.

7:30PM - 7:55PM -- "PixelFlow" - Patrick Sculley
PixelFlow provides a post production review and delivery platform that strengthens customer relationships, promotes teamwork and enhances production value. The platform delivers simple, yet highly effective features for entrepreneurs, studios, post houses, enterprises, visual effects labs, animators and those who sell video over the web.

Come experience how their iPhone app, iPixelFlow, keeps you in sync with your post-production projects while you are on the go. Securely access audio and video and collaborate with your team by posting timeline comments and approvals. Stream HD content to your AirPlay enabled device or via HDMI.

About Patrick Sculley
Patrick has had a passion for audio & visual programming since the age of 8, when his uncle gave him his first computer - a Tandy TRS-80. He later followed his passions to the Texas Academy of Math and Science and the University of North Texas, where he majored in computer science.
In the early 2000's, Patrick co-founded Inphinit Productions, which pioneered techniques for immersive virtual events at SxSW Interactive and other festivals. In 2004, he started Make Believe Software, a development consultancy with a focus on Rich Internet Applications.
William Sculley, Patrick's brother, is a creative producer operating out of Los Angeles. William and Patrick had a critical need to securely exchange rich media assets between themselves and customers around the world. After extensively searching for a tool that could do this effectively, Patrick commissioned Make Believe Software to build the underlying platform that would later become PixelFlow. Today, PixelFlow is used to collaborate on everything from feature films to school projects.
In his past time, Patrick enjoys spending time with his family, video editing, audio engineering and his two dogs (Paris and Matisse).

8:00PM - 8:25PM -"Jazz at the Nash" the 14-camera music performance video" - Bill Davis
Bill will be walking us through "Jazz at the Nash" the 14-camera music performance video he recently produced to test the limits of FCP-X's new multi-cam capabilities. He'll talk about what worked, what didn't, his strategies for organization and post, and what the new multi-cam friendly tools in FCP-X might make easier for those interested in capturing events and performances from multiple angles.

About Bill Davis
Bill Davis has been using video technology to leverage business results for corporate clients (PetSmart, Leslie's Pools, BMW/Oracle,etc) for more than 20years. These days, he's fascinated by the convergence of video and the web, and how that might be opening up whole new video communication possibilities. He's a former contributing editor for Videomaker Magazine, and has lectured in more than 30 states on video production topics.

8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
In the lobby will be many FCP, Avid and Premiere Gurus. This is your chance to ask questions. No questions? Then talk to each other. Also in the lobby will be Tery Williams and Christina Oliver from brand new lacpug Platinum Sponsor AJAThe break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lafcpug. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

9:00PM - 9:40PM - "The Hollywood Premiere of TouchEdit" - Dan Lebental
TouchEdit captures the spirit of classical filmmaking while offering cutting-edge digital editing capabilities. By allowing editors to cut video using finger touch commands on tactile filmstrips, TouchEdit reconnects its users with the essence of real film.
