As always, we are the second Tuesday of the month, with networking from 4:30 to 5, we'll have an hour long presentation and Q&A, then another half hour of hang around time. Hope to see you there!
The January meeting of SEMpdx is all about local search and mobile marketing, and we have two great presenters. Each speaker will give a 20-25 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session.
David Mihm, a leading expert on local search, will be speaking on The Evolution of Local Search at Google.
Scott Fish, of ethology, will be presenting about how to turn current trends in Mobile Search into a competitive advantage.

David writes frequently about Local Search at his own blog, Mihmorandum, and formerly wrote a column on Local Search at Search Engine Land. His annual Local Search Ranking Factors project is among the most important studies of Local SEO. David has been invited to present on Local search marketing by every major search marketing conference, including multiple SMX and SES events, the BIA/Kelsey Group ILM Series, and SEOmozCON. He previously served on the Board of Directors of SEMpdx, Portland’s search marketing trade organization, as Director of Partnerships from 2008 – 2010 and SearchFest Director in 2011. In addition to managing his private consulting business, David is the co-founder of GetListed.org.
Scott is responsible for imparting his advanced knowledge of data-driven marketing strategies to all team members, and for overseeing all client relationship and account management functions. Along with his best practices acumen, Scott is fully proficient in the latest Search Engine Marketing strategies, including advanced Link Building, proper code structure and optimization, enhanced content creation, engaged social media promotions, and mobile search strategies.
Scott is currently oversees Digital Marketing Strategy for ethology (previously EngineWorks). Prior to joining EngineWorks in 2007, Scott was the Domain Sales and Acquisitions Manager for Dotster, Inc., one of the world’s largest Internet domain registrars and was also founder of his own Search Engine Marketing company in April 2005.
