Part glam festival, part chic cocktail party, part foodie extravaganza—the second annual Jacksonville Whiskey Affair will be a celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture. Last year’s fundraising fete was a mix of fantastic food and sophisticated libations and other luxurious indulgences. Well, we’re at it again with a delicious eats, fine spirits and more.
Among the evening’s whiskey tastings to be
provided by Coastal Wine & Spirits are:
Buchanans 12 Year, blended scotch • Bulleit Rye, blended American whisky • Bushmills Honey, Irish flavored • Crown Royal Maple, Canadian flavored • Crown Royal Black, Canadian charred • Dickel #12, Tennessee • Jeremiah Weed, bourbon • Seagrams 7 Stone Cherry, American flavored. The complete slate of spirits is still being compiled. But expect an amazing mix of liquors, and not just whiskey. We will be pouring a variety of outstanding labels ranging from vodka to tequila.
Also, we are thrilled to have Palm Ridge Reserve, premium whiskey distilled in Florida, returning to pour at this year’s event. Also, we are excited to have Julio Cordero, a master Cuban cigar roller, back to roll premium cigars using leaves grown in Ecuador, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Guests are welcome to ask Julio about his craft and even take a souvenir smoke home with them. In addition, patrons will indulge in fantastic food prepared by participating restaurants including III Forks and more.
The 2012 Jacksonville Whiskey Affair is set for Thursday, November 15, 6:30-9:00 PM, at the Sheraton Jacksonville, 10605 Deerwood Park Blvd., not far from St. Johns Town Center.
