Come help Black Poetry Theatre celebrate 5 years of bringing poetic theatrical productions to Durham, NC. This is a fundraiser for BPT and it's season kickoff. This event will feature special performances from current and past BPT cast members.  Hosted by BPT founders Church da Poet and Dasan Ahanu.

Black Poetry Theatre is a theatre company based in Durham, NC that creates, directs, and produces original theatrical pieces centered around poetry and spokenword. Founded by Joseph "Church da Poet" Churchwell and Dasan Ahanu, BPT has been offering quality theatre since 2007 and has been a creative outlet for artists in the community.

Black Poetry Theatre (BPT) seeks to expand the understanding of spoken word and foster appreciation for the power of modern contemporary poetry, by presenting it in a traditional theatrical setting. BPT also seeks to raise cultural awareness through the use of performance arts as a tool of cultural expression and to encourage arts in the community.
