How does an indoor swim work?
Athletes are seeded into waves of 3 racers based upon their 500 yard swim time. The swim is completed in a 6 lane, indoor pool. Each athlete starts approx 10 seconds apart. You swim like you drive - stay on the right and pass on the other side, if needed.
Once a lane is done, then the next wave of 3 racers is walked over and started.
The first wave starts at 9am and the last one will start between 11:30am-12:30pm (depending upon if we fill). The first wave is NOT the fastest wave. The fastest wave starts more toward the middle to back of the wave assignments.
The Event Director will attempt to honor all special requests to the best of their ability. However, they must be made BEFORE the waves are seeded. For the Earlybird Triathlon, all requests should be submitted by April 15th.
