Northern New Jersey IT Industry Roundtable
Does your company experience difficulty in finding employees with the right technical skills to fill open positions?
Join with industry colleagues, academic and workforce partners in a facilitated dialogue to discuss the types of technical training your company specifically needs to succeed in the future.
Who Should Attend: All northern New Jersey IT functional and HR managers.
Educators, industry trade association members and other interested parties.
Employers say they cannot find Information Technologies (IT) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) professionals with the specific skills to continue to grow their businesses. Often they hire foreign nationals who have the needed skills. However, there are current and future employees who live in New Jersey that could fill these positions, but they lack a clear picture of what they need to know to compete for your jobs. Meanwhile NJ county colleges and universities already have or can readily develop quality classes that match your training needs. But the educators still are only guessing what is actually needed or wanted by the companies.
A workforce / knowledge / skills gap exists.
Come and be part of this focused INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE.
You will have a chance to tell NJIT, Rutgers-Newark, Bergen Community College, Essex County College, Hudson County Community College, County College of Morris and Passaic County Community College as well as the Workforce Investment Boards in these northern New Jersey counties what kinds of IT and STEM skills your company’s current and future technical workforce needs.
Your input will help focus and identify the educational offerings needed to close the workforce gap.
With funding through a multi- million dollar U.S. Department of Labor training grant (Northern NJ IT / Professional & Technical Services Career Development Project), we will be able to identify and train individuals to meet your current and future workforce needs at NO COST to you and, if qualified, to the trainees.
