Topic: Hacking Information Security Management
Using anecdotal evidence from security projects ranging from security awareness to PCI compliance, the goal is to share techniques that lead to high levels of success for security initiatives. This frequently starts with building your business case and communicating it's value to company leadership. A number of techniques will be discussed regarding vendor management, such as who to partner with, and how to evaluate vendor offerings. Finally, the human element, how to work with your peers in Product, Legal, HR, Marketing, Finance, Audit and others to achieve your goals.
Speaker: Mikhael Felker
Mikhael is the Director of Security & Compliance for ReachLocal. His professional experience is a tangled web of information security, privacy, teaching, technical journalism, and non-profit leadership. During the past ten years his sector experience includes Defense, Healthcare, Non-Profit/Education and Internet/Tech, seeing first hand the variance in information security culture and program maturity. Mikhael received his MS in Information Security Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and BS in Computer Science from UCLA. His written work of 50+ publications has been featured in Forbes, ACM, IEEE Security & Privacy, ISACA Journal, ISSA Journal, case studies, and a number of online magazines.

No! If you have registered and paid, your name will be included on our check-in list.
Because ISSA Los Angeles makes commitments to our facilities well in advance of each event, we regret that we cannot offer any refunds or credits for any of our events. If you cannot attend an event you can send someone in your place as long as they have your written permission.
