The November chapter email called for volunteers for 3 committees the Board created to assist with Chapter business. The Web and Social Media, Meeting Planning, and Community Project Committees still need volunteer members. The below charters have been drafted to provide an idea of the responsibilities of those committees. The (ISC)2 NE Florida Chapter will be as successful as we the members and information security professionals make it. Please consider being a part of it.
The Web and Social Media Committee is a member committee reporting to the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter Membership Chair. The committee leads the website and social media initiatives for the Chapter. The committee will represent the Chapter in these mediums to promote the Chapter and its events, the information security industry, share best practices and expertise, and facilitate discussion and topics. The committee will oversee the forums with emphasis on learning about the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter, the information security industry and to assist members and non-members to elevate themselves via interaction with their peers.
The Meeting Planning Committee is a member committee reporting to the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter President. The committee is in charge of planning the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter meetings. This coordinated effort includes scheduling the dates and times, communication with Chapter membership, coordinating venue, arranging speakers and topic discussions, and working with vendors for hosting and sponsorship. The Meeting Planning Committee will work closely with the Web and Social Media Committee to market and advertise the planned meetings and events.
The Community Projects Committee is a member committee reporting to the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter Vice President. The committee is in charge of outreach, coordination, and partnership with other information security groups and professional organizations. The Community Projects Committee will work closely with the Meeting Planning Committee to organize efforts and membership communication. The committee is also tasked with community outreach with a focus on learning about the (ISC)² NE Florida Chapter and information security industry.
