On February 23rd, Pace University's Seidenberg School will be hosting a workshop on "iOS Game Development." You're invited to join us and our expert guest instructor to learn how to put together your first game.
Developer and game designer Emmett Butler will lead the workshop with the assistance of experienced students available for discussion and guidance.
"I'll be giving two sessions on programming games for iOS using the cocos2d and box2d libraries, a sprite animation tool and a 2d rigid body dynamics simulation engine.
The first session will comprise a crash course in Objective-C and an introduction to the basic concepts of game development via the cocos2d paradigm. We'll also play around a bit in a live XCode environment to see some concepts in action.
The second meeting will be a livecoding session and workshop in which I'll lead the group through building a physics and animation sandbox that runs on the iPhone and uses many of the core techniques of game programming, including sprite animation, collision detection, time-based event handling, and more." - Emmett
Note: Beginners are welcomed! We strongly encourage that you bring your own decive (Mac laptop and iOS devices), since we have a limited amount available. Pair programming is also enouraged
