commemorating the sesquicentennial (150 years) anniversary of the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla (May 5, 1862) and the success of Hispanic Americans in the Commonwealth of Virginia

 About Cinco de Mayo: For all practical purposes, "Cinco de Mayo" (Spanish for fifth of May) in the United States is a national day that celebrates the culture and experiences of Americans of Mexican ancestry, much as St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, and the Chinese New Year are used to celebrate those of Irish, German, and Chinese ancestry, respectively. About La Sandia Mexican Kitchen: Chef Richard Sandoval, internationally recognized as the Father of Modern Mexican Cuisine, elevates Mexican cooking to new heights at La Sandia serving up authentic Mexican specialties alongside over 200 fine Tequilas. Inspired by his culinary mantra of 'old ways, new hands,' Chef Sandoval reinterprets traditional dishes with innovative techniques and skillful presentation.

Admission: Cinco Pesos ($5 plus $1.27 online reservation charge. Wide selection of Tequila, domestic beer and imported beer; wine; Margaritas, $5. Each guest pays at the bar additional drinks or food.

  • Free appetizers: Shrimp Ceviche; Quesadillitas (Choice of Chicken, 3-Mexican Cheeses, Chorizo); Tacos (choice ofal pastor, skirt steak, tinga chicken and carnitas; Beef & Chorizo empanadas; Mexican Torta Slider (choice of carnitas, beef barbacoa and tinga chicken; Chipotle BBQ Pork Ribs; Tecate; Guacamole; Achiote Wings; Sopes (choice of carnitas and tinga chicken)

Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MAHCC)

The MAHCC is a multi-state business organization serving the Mid-Atlantic Region. It advocates for economic, workforce and community development, and it champions our Nation's capital and the Mid-Atlantic region as premier international destinations and sought-after locations to visit,  start a business,  live,  work and play. Since its inception in 2002, it has earned a sterling reputation for being one of the most dynamic chambers of commerce and it has become one of the leading voices for small- women-, veteran- and minority-owned businesses in the region.

The MAHCC is organized into five State Divisions: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. State Divisons are organized into Chapters, each one led by a local leader and its own Leadership Council. Each chapters is represented by a voting members on the MAHCC Board of Directors.
