Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR), Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center's Children Pediatric Residency Group (OLOLRMC's GME), and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), Inc., would like to invite you to our Autism Conference called "Investigating Autism: Current Issues and Findings."

This is a one day conference designed especially for practitioners, educators, medical professionals and parents. 

The goal of this conference is to provide information on how autism affects people and how professional caregivers can effectively work with individuals with autism.

Our learning objectives are:

  1. Outline the new screening and diganostic tools based on the DSM-V
  2. Evaluate the role of medications in the treatment of autism and seizure disorders
  3. Discuss and secribe different disorders that are associated with autism
  4. Strategies and diagnostic tools with different sleep issues with autism
  5. Describe the different issues with autism and the GI tract
  6. Describe the different approaches to those affected with autism in an emergent and crisis situation.

Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR): 

Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge is a non-profit, family directed resource center for individuals with disabilities and their families. It is a place where families can go that is directed and staffed by parents or family members of children with disabilities or adults with disabilities. It is this common experience that gives Families Helping Families a very unique approach to serving families. The Resource Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders is one of 10 programs of Families Helping Famileis of Greater Baton Rouge.
