Introduction to Processing & Visualization
Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (CDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Have you ever wondered how to get into data visualization, but haven't had a lot of experience with programming? Have you ever wished your graphic designs could move and react to the user? Have you ever wanted to use code to generate visual systems?
Join us on for a workshop on the open source creative visualization tool "Processing". In this workshop, led by Javier Fadul, Experience Coordinator at Culture Pilot, and Travis McCarra Art Director at Buffalo Design Co., they will guide you through understanding the possibilities that are opened up by this wonderful tool. The principles you will learn from this workshop can be used in fields from graphic design, visual effects, to data visualization, and even robotics.
For this workshop all you need is a laptop, and the provided internet connection. Processing is a cross platform framework and we will be helping you install and setup your collection of sketches. By the end of the workshop you will have a good understanding of the principals behind programming visuals and a set of sketches to get started creating your own generative visual systems.
