Do you want to make pretty things out of leather? Of course you do! But perhaps you don't know where to start, what tools to get or where to get materials. Well then, this class is for you.

In this class, students will learn the properties and applications vegetable dyed and chrome dyed leather, will begin to understand the theory behind creating leather objects, acquire the skills necessary to decorate leather by stamping and carving, learn about finishes, dyes and chemicals used with leather, acquire basic knowledge in using most leather tools, learn how to setup their own workshop, and learn about the baiscs of the Western Floral style of leatherworking.

Class Goals:

The goal of this class is to give students a firm foothold in the craft of leatherworking. Students will leave class with a piece they made themselves, and will know how to acquire the tools they need to continue their own education.

Materials and basic tools are included in the class price. Students will get to keep their project and tools at the end of class. Students are encouraged to bring a notebook and pencil to class for taking notes
