Introduction to Invasive Weeds and Management - Thursday - April 4 - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

An entry level class that will cover ID of Colorado’s A- and B-list weeds including live specimens; information about our state weed law; weed biology (life cycles, weed evolution, weeds and succession); strategies and methods for weed management and sprayer calibration.
Instructor: Dr. George Beck is a professor of weed science in the Department of Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management at Colorado State University. George works exclusively on invasive weeds conducting research to develop management systems to reclaim infested areas. He has also developed public policy on invasive weeds at the state and national levels. George served on the Invasive Species Advisory Committee for the National Invasive Species Council for 6 years and currently serves on several advisory committees for the state of Colorado.
Registration: Open to anyone on a paid registration basis. Class size is limited, so register early.
Native Plant Master: Class does NOT count toward certification as a Native Plant Master. For more information, see www.conativeplantmaster.org.
When to meet: Please arrive at 8:30 AM. Class begins 9:00 AM sharp. Lunch break for 1 hour starting about noon.
Where to meet: CSU Extension office in Jefferson County, ECMR (see map).
What to bring: Notebook, pencil; sack lunch if desired.
