This 6 week introductory class is designed for students with little to no knowledge of belly dance, current dancers who want to get back to basics and brush up on technique, or other styles of dancers looking for some cross-training with hip and arm movement. No prior dance experience of any kind is required. The class will focus on controlled movements, isolations, and muscular training that are the foundation of middle eastern dance. We’ll break down postures, work on muscle isolations, introduce dance conditioning, and learn techniques for circles, undulations, drops, shimmies, and more.
Class meets weekly on Wednesday evenings for 6 weeks beginning on September 4th. Advance registration is strongly encouraged. At the door registration will be accepted on a space available basis. No registrations will be accepted after the start of the session.
