Join AbelCine and guest filmmakers on Wednesday, February 13th (6-9 pm) for a first look at the Penelope Delta digital camera from legendary camera manufacturer Aaton.
Featuring familiar Aaton design features, the Delta is the first optical viewfinder digital camera with an internal SSD recorder for full resolution CineDNG uncompressed RAW recording. With a Super35 Dalsa CCD sensor, 800 and 100 ISO sensitivities, a rotating mirror shutter, subtle colors and skin tones, the Penelope Delta is a digital cinema camera born from the company’s decades of filmmaking experience.
The evening will include an overview of how the Penelope Delta fits into the Aaton line and a discussion of its file format, record times and workflow. Filmmakers who have shot with the Delta will talk about their experiences and screen footage. There will be plenty of time for informal Q&A and hands-on with the camera.
Topics will include:
- Penelope Delta overview from the mechanical / functional and historical point of view
Ian McCausland, Camera Technology Specialist, AbelCine
- Penelope Delta file formats, file sizes and record time. Ergon workflow and post grading
Juliet Verni, Camera Technology Specialist, AbelCine
- Camera tour: camera controls and functions
- Filmmaker impressions of the Penelope Delta with screening of footage – speakers to be announced
