Event Details

Before enrolling in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course which begins January 29 attend this no obligation orientation to better understand what the 8-week program is all about.


In this information session, participants will learn how mindfulness meditation can:

  • Support Well Being
  • Cultivate Flow
  • Develop Ease

 

During the introductory session attendees will:

  • Enjoy a Video Presentation of Bill Moyers' Healing from Within
  • Practice Eating Meditation à la Thich Nhat Hanh
  • Experience the Body Scan as developed by Jon Kabat -Zinn


Augusta Hopkins will share her experience with mindfulness and describe the 8-week Mindfulness Base Stress Reduction Course.  There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.

 

 

The full 8-week MBSR course meets Wednesdays at a.Muse

Jan 29th - March 19th

6:30pm - 9:00pm

Daylong session on Saturday March 2nd from 9:30am-4:30pm


The fee of $360 is for 30 hours of instruction, guided meditation mp3 files, Jon Kabat Zinn's book Full Catastrophe Living and payment processing.

Augusta Hopkins of Mindfulness for Stress Reduction and Success

Augusta is an experienced, colorful, creative instructor, passionate about mindfulness practice.  Engaged in movement and meditation since 1977.  Practiced mindfulness and movement in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and France.  Co-founded SF Sangha.

Trained with leading MBSR instructor and author Dr. Bob Stahl.  Mentored by and co-taught with Renee Burgard LCSW, senior Bay Area MBSR instructor for Apple, Google and Stanford.

Received lay ordination from Thich Nhat Hanh, her primary teacher, and is a lay member of the Order of Interbeing.
