Learn how to make fun and useful electronic devices based on the Arduino open source platform with Qtechknow and the staff of Deezmaker in Pasadena. Arduinos and the ecosystem around them are allowing cheap, easy-to program networks of distributed sensors and controllers that can enable the "internet of things."
Registrants will go home with an Arduino kit that they will build in the class featuring functionality of their devising based on available parts. Since we anticipate there may be some family groups who will want to share a kit, we have two different pricings.
Qtechknow has a branded line of Arduino-related electronics, has been profiled in the September Popular Science, has been a sought-after speaker at Makerfaires, has his own blog for Make Magazine - and he is 13 years old. The last class was written up on Slice of MIT.
Quin was also one of the invited participants in the first-ever White House Makerfaire!
Since the venue is small and we want to allow as many people to participate as possible, we regret that we will not be able to allow other guests, family members, etc to sit in without registering. ALL CHILDREN UNDER 17 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT WITH A PAID TICKET.
Class will be held on SATURDAY, July 26, from 1-5 PM.
A laptop computer (Mac/Windows - NO TABLETS) is required to participate in the activities.
To save some time in class, participants should download the arduino IDE - version 1.0.5 (http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software).
