The Great Wall of Oakland is collaborating with the Walker Art Center to bring the Internet Cat Video Festival to Oakland!
Join cat lovers and feline fans in OMCA’s James Moore Theater for a special preview of the Walker Art Center's curated (#catvidfest), featuring your favorite silly cat videos projected larger-than-life. The screening is preceded by a VIP talk with Scott Stulen, Project Director of the Walker Art Center, Douglas Long, Ph.D., OMCA Senior Curator of Natural Sciences, and René de Guzman, OMCA Senior Curator of Art.
This VIP preview screening is part of the Oakland Internet Cat Video Festival, presented by the Great Wall of Oakland. On Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 3-10pm, West Grand between Broadway and Telegraph will be transformed into a kittycat wonderland with cat-themed live music, arts and crafts, animal adoptions and other cat-ivities. The Great Wall of Oakland illuminates Uptown Oakland with curated, large-scale projections of the most cutting-edge video art, film, aerial dance, and music from around the world reaching thousands of Bay Area art fans each month. Since 2007, the Great Wall has been transforming the 100'x100' blank wall at the corner of West Grand and Broadway Avenue into a mesmerizing urban screen for a diverse base of viewers during the city’s biggest cultural draw, the Oakland Art Murmur and at other specially programmed events.
