Project Information: The Austin Intergenerational Peace Builders project aims to strengthen the capacity of churches, neighborhood organizations, and schools to have a transformative influence on the community through engaging young people at-risk of experiencing violence and community members of all ages to come together to create safety and strengthen relationships in the Austin community. It is designed to build the peacemaking and mentorship skills of both youth and adults in the Austin neighborhood, so they can engage with one another and work together to create safe places and spaces in the community.
The project includes a series of trainings and community capacity building activities in partnership with Austin Coalition for Youth Justice, Austin Coming Together, Austin Community Resource Center, Dreammakers, Dominican University Graduate School of Social Work, and Temple University Intergenerational Center.
