THE FIRST LABYRINTH FOR 2015 !
Interfaith Labyrinth Walk
FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2015
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Grace North Church
FREE! All Welcome!
Find peace. Find calm. Find hope.-- by walking the
Grace North Church Labyrinth in Berkeley.
When our lives get busy, this Interfaith labyrinth offers the perfect place and time for contemplation, meditation and prayer in community with others.
Please note that the next Labyrinth Walk is Friday, January 30th (there is no Labyrinth Walk in December.)
Did you know there is no wrong way to walk a labyrinth? Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no false turns, instead there is one path in and one path out. Since ancient times, the
Labyrinth has been a form of meditation. Walking the winding path reminds us that even though life has many twists and turns, we always end up at center. Wind your way back to the beginning, and find that with every step you feel more and more refreshed.
When our lives get busy, this Interfaith labyrinth offers the perfect place and time for contemplation, meditation and prayer. After the opening welcome, there are no words, only song serenading our steps as we walk the labyrinth. The Winding Way musicians of Grace North Church play beautiful music from many world religions--that inspire inner peace, calm and hope--throughout the hour. You can choose to walk, sit, listen, sing, meditate and/or pray. We hope you will attend.
All faiths are welcome! Yes, this free interfaith event is Open to the public. You and your family and friends are welcome--please invite them! Come as you are -- casual attire or come directly from your work or school.
About the Labyrinth Design The Grace North Church Labyrinth follows the pattern of the Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth in France that was constructed in the 13th century. All ages can walk the path, by simply starting at the beginning, stepping along the spiraling path until the center is reached, and then return to the beginning.
Live Music Walk the Labyrinth to the beautiful songs and chants from many world faiths and traditions. These peaceful and loving songs of spirit and faith played by The Winding Way musicians sound even more beautiful in this hall with stellar acoustics. The Winding Way musicians play guitar, violin, cello, mandolin, piano and voice. The songlist changes every month, so plan to come to several Walks!
