Event Details

ArtJam is a three-hour super-fun arts intensive that gives kids ages 8-14 and their parents a sample of the InspirEd experience in the schools.

Kids will rotate with all three professional artists in the areas of music, dance and fine art to learn a new skill.

Parents are welcome to attend with their children at no cost! The workshop will take place outisde on the grounds of the Mayslake Peabody Estate unless inclement weather, then- we go inside!

Music With Your Mouth: This fun music pod will be led by American Idol alum, Reed Grimm. Taking a note from the popularity of movies like Pitch Perfect and shows like Glee, Reed will work with students to experiment with using their mouths, bodies and anything else around them to make music.

Born to a musical family, Reed has been on stage since the age of 2. He knew from early childhood that music and performance would be his life and that has come to fruition. A Season 11 alum of American Idol, Reed has performed on television and at numerous nationally recognized venues. He also has extensive experience leading school music programs in Wisconsin and in Minnesota.

Creative Movement: Led by professional dancer and choreographer, Tiffany Philpot, this dance pod will challenge students to use their bodies as an expression of music using lyrical and contemporary dance techniques.

Tiffany is a formally trained dancer with a degree in theatre and dance performance from Middle Tennessee State University. She has performed with Heritage Dance Project, Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre and Core Project. Tiffany has recently become the Director of the company’s Community Moves program, which works with children to develop a greater appreciation of dance and movement.

Art for the Masses: This pod will be led by fine artist, Roberto Martinez. Students will utilize various techniques and learn how to use mixed media to create art that speaks to a multitude of audiences. Together, they will collaborate to create a large piece for public display.

Roberto is a professional photographer and Assistant Director at Side Street Studio Arts in Chicago. His work includes printmaking, painting, drawing, as well as both film and digital photography. Roberto’s has a strong passion for arts and helps curate art exhibitions and manages art events. He has recently returned to school at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago to pursue a BFA in photography.

ArranmoreArts is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that fosters the creative spirit and builds communities by providing innovative, interactive, and inclusive educational programs and performances to children and adults.

Live Inspired.

It’s our motto for a reason. It is who we are and what we do. Why? Because we believe that unique performance and educational experiences awaken the creative spirit, inspire community and make life worth living.

We start and end there. From our InspirEd “Jams,” where young students play an active role in creating with professional artists, to our “CabCab” concerts, where we pull together some of Chicago’s best performers to jam on a musical theme.

We build them. Spontaneously at our concerts among audience members, between our artists after they’ve performed together and among the kids who attend our educational programs.
