Innovation Engineering Experience with Doug Hall
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CDT)
The Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana (MEPOL) in sponsorship with the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) and the Opportunity Machine will host an "Innovation Engineering Experience" with Doug Hall of Eureka! Ranch.
Innovation Engineering transforms innovation from a random event into a reliable system, a scientific system, for profitable growth. It accomplishes this by creating a culture of never ending innovation within organizations that delivers increased innovation speed (up to 6x) and decreased risk (30 to 80%).
It Works in LOUISIANA; this from a previous event on Innovation Engineering in Lafayette:
“This was a rare experience to have a high powered seminar like this right
here in our backyard.”
- Jay Jackson, President and CEO
Innovation Engineering Experience is a one day, high intensity experience performed by Doug Hall, Eureka! Ranch CEO and founder of the Innovation Engineering movement with the University of Maine.
The program features a blend of a) high energy presentations, b) “Lab class” where you apply the skills on a case study and c) guided reflection where you consider how you can apply to your organization. The program ends with a three dimensional experience called Paul’s Popcorn where the participants experience the entire Innovation Engineering process in 90 minutes.
Doug’s a Chemical Engineering by education who rose to the rank of Master Marketing Inventor at P&G inventing and shipping 9 innovations in 12 months. He did this by applying the systemic mindset of Dr. W. Edwards Deming to marketing and innovation. In 1986, Doug founded the Eureka! Ranch with a singular focus on creating BIG IDEAS that are Meaningfully Unique. The Ranch leadership team believes in innovation so much that it invests 20% of revenue into quantitative R&D on more effective innovation methods. In 2005, in partnership with the University of Maine the Eureka! Ranch created the new field of study known as Innovation Engineering. Dateline NBC described Doug as “an eccentric entrepreneur who just might have what we’ve all been looking for...the happy secret to success.” Ellen Guidera, Walt Disney Company Vice President said of Doug, “When Doug meets Disney, creativity never wanes; our team explodes when he "Jump Starts Our Brains!"
