Background fundamentals in U.S. Copyright Law.
Fair use in the U.S., with specific focus on fair use in academic and entrepreneurial contexts.
A brief discussion on the use of, and requirments with respect to, open source software.
The seminar will be followed by cocktails and networking from 5:00-7:00pm at the Idea Greenhouse in downtown Durham courtesy of seminar sponsors Devine Millimet, Pierce Atwood, Ropes & Gray, and Salient Surgical Technologies.
The Innovation Catalyst Seminar Series, hosted monthly, discusses relevant issues related to commercializing UNH’s innovations, including current and emerging best practices on campus.
The seminars are open to all and designed to be a meeting place for innovators, entrepreneurs, service providers, and anyone else interested in how the university innovations of today represent the information and opportunities of tomorrow.
When & Where
UNH Innovation advocates for, manages, and promotes UNH's intellectual property; promotes partnerships between UNH and the business community; and is responsible for licensing UNH technologies and creating start-up companies based on innovations created at UNH. UNH Innovation also hosts the InterOperability Laboratory and the NH Innovation Research Center.
