Colorado Water Inovation Cluster
Please join us for the November Innovation After Hours
Please join us as the newly formed Colorado Water Innovation Cluster (CWIC) hosts the inaugural reception celebrating the
rich history of water technologies and research in Fort Collins.
Recently the City of Fort Collins, along with a variety of private sector companies and Colorado State University,
formed the Colorado Water Innovation Cluster (CWIC) to leverage expertise in the area and collaborate on regional
and global water issues. Fort Collins, and the northern Colorado region, is home to four additional industry clusters,
Larimer Bioscience, Colorado Clean Energy, GIS Alley--Geospatial Technologies and Uniquely Fort Collins
(led by Be Local Northern Colorado).
According to Forbes Guthrie, Vice President of Stewart Environmental Consultants and co-chair of CWIC,
“This cluster is a key component to a broader regional initiative, which ultimately will position Northern Colorado
as a center of excellence in producing innovative, integrated and sustainable infrastructure solutions.”
Guthrie continues, “ Combined with initiatives already underway in clean energy, bioscience and location-based
decision support systems, the CWIC will allow the regional stakeholders to collaboratively design and
showcase infrastructure solutions, which in many cases are much larger and have far more
impact than any stakeholder could achieve on their own.”
“Ultimately the collaborative success of water-related initiatives will draw positive
attention to our region and attract innovative companies and solid primary jobs,”
states Josh Birks, the City’s Economic Advisor.
CWIC leaders will give a short presentation during the reception describing the cluster’s vision,
mission and showcase projects.
Admission is FREE. Light appetizers and complimentary beverages will be served.
