Magatte Wade, Founder & CEO, Tiossan


Tiossan is a high-end natural skin care company based on indigenous Senegalese recipes.  Magatte was born in Senegal, educated in France, and started her entrepreneurial career in the U.S. Her first company, Adina World Beverages, based on indigenous Senegalese beverage recipes, became one of the most widely distributed U.S. brands started by an African entrepreneur. Her second company, Tiossan,distributes products online, at high-end boutiques, and at the Tiossan store in Hudson, NY, "one of the coolest small towns in America." Magatte was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum at Davos and is a frequent speaker at business conferences and college campuses. Forbes magazine named Magatte Wade one of the “20 Youngest Power Women of Africa” and one of "15 Women Boosting the Continent of Africa" by Madame Figaro. Magatte writes for The Guardian, The Huffington Post, and Barron’s. Co-Founder of Women Innovate Mobile Accelerator-- an accelerator that invests in women-founded mobile tech companies. After graduating from Columbia Business School and joining Goldman Sachs, Deborah started her finance career focusing on health care clients and moving into health-care focused internet and tech companies. Deborah's time on Wall Street fueled her desire to see more women succeed and her experience evaluating software and technology companies, forging partnerships and raising capital were each instrumental in building the online properties she has launched in the last two years. All of Deborah’s initiatives and properties have a common goal: to champion women to become builders of technology, companies and their own wealth. Over the past decade, she has invested in early stage companies in the tech and healthcare fields, many of which are founded by women.

Since helping found Bpeace in 2002, Toni has been committed to the idea that business people have a significant role to play in peace building. Before downshifting her strategic marketing consulting business -- The Maloney Group -- to lead Bpeace full-time, Toni held executive positions at American Express, Ogilvy, and McCann-Erickson.
