Making Music is hosting this free information and advice event so you can come together with other local music groups and get to grips with all aspects of running your group, rather than wrestling with it on your own.
We’ll talk about a range of topics, selecting from the following:
- Why social media is important and how it can work for your group
- The different sources of funding you can access, and top tips for writing grant applications
- Marketing strategies and how to use them
- The importance of branding
- Make the most of your website
- Recruitment of new members and committee members
- Where do you get your music?
- Keeping the accounts
- Getting involved with children and young people
- Anything else that is of concern or interest to you and your group!
Topics for discussion will be chosen by the attendees on the day.

Attendees are welcome to arrive and leave at any point during the day, though we hope that you will stay for as much of the day as you can!
Directions to the venue:

Parking outside the Community Centre is very limited. It is suggested you park at Admiral Park Waitrose, (the centre has permission to do so). It is a 2 minute walk to the Roseville Community Centre.
From Admiral Park Waitrose, turn left, going inland, turn right at T-junction (towards traffic lights) and then turn immediately left into Roseville Estate; this means walking up the short exit road. The Community Centre is immediately in front of you – big windows with blue blinds)
