Welcome to Route to India's Farm to Table
Culinary Tour and Cooking Class
Our Indian culinary tour begins right here in downtown San Francisco. We will visit the Saturday farmers market that takes place at the Ferry Building, at the base of Market Street on the Embarcadero.
10.15am : Meet at the CUESA's information booth in front of the Ferry Building on Embarcadero.
10.30am : Visit the popular Sukhi's Gourmet Indian food booth for an authentic taste of India. Founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1992, following an increased demand for authentic Indian food prepared with premium, natural ingredient, Sukhi carries the best flavors of Indian curries and snacks.
10.45am- 11.15am: Forage the farmers market for Indian veggies to prep for our Indian lunch, picking seasonal, organic main stays like cauliflower, broccoli and fresh california greens like arugula and spinach. Onions, tomatoes and cilantro are staples we will need for our lunch as well.
11.45am- 12.15am: Walk over to Spicely organic spice shop on Market street and purvey organic spices that we use in Indian cooking.
12.30 pm- 3.30 pm: Cook a delicious Indian meal using ingredients bought at the Farmers' market. Then we will enjoy a leisurely lunch- fruits of our labour.
Our menu may include (depending on what we find at the market):
California style farm fresh dosas with arugula and jack cheese.
Avocado and fresh sprouts chaat
