As you walk into the class, you’ll be greeted with hot milk chai.
We'll begin by preparing our appetizer, the Savory Upma. Upma is cream of wheat - we'll make this appetizer from scratch using fresh herbs and spices. This healthy and mouth-watering dish will be ready in no time! After eating the Savory Upma and replenishing our energy, we'll dive right into cooking the two main courses.
For our main course, we’ll be cooking Butter Chicken or also known as Chicken Makhni. I'll teach you how to make a gourmet garam masala powder from scratch that we'll be using to make the Butter Chicken. We'll be making this thick and buttery chicken dish from scratch using fresh spices, high quality chicken, butter, and other fresh ingredients. Nothing preserved or out of a can is allowed in my kitchen. We’ll eat this rich dish with Polao – a fancy rice dish that tastes very intricate and sophisticated.
NOTE: this is a hands-on cooking class, you'll prep, cook, and eat during the class. You'll have an opportunity not only to learn some great recipes, but also good kitchen skills and practices. I prepare nothing ahead of time, we do everything during the class :) All of the ingredients will be fresh, nothing canned or preserved is allowed in my kitchen.
