Independence Day Celebration Family Barbecue and Firework Display
Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (CDT)
Join us for our very first Independence Day Celebration! This evening is being built specifically for families with loved ones with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We have heard from so many of you that you don't go to neighborhood barbecues or firework displays but we believe everyone should have the freedom to celebrate THIS holiday in their own special way!
We'll be having a barbecue and family friendly event with both INDOOR and OUTDOOR events. After dark we will be hosting a firework display that can be viewed from inside the front lobby of the Autism Center, from your vehicle in the parking lot, or in your very own lawn chair under the stars.
The Autism Society - Omaha Support Network will provide hamburgers and hot dogs and we are asking you to bring a side dish, dessert, or soft drinks/juice to share. We'll provide water and lemonade, condiments, and dinnerware.
Fireworks will begin at dusk (approx 9pm) in the upper parking area.
To offset the cost of fireworks we will be accepting cash donations as well as donations of pagkaged fireworks. For safety purposes all onsite fireworks must be performed by our Firework Crew in the designated area.
**Outdoor activities will include some basic water play so dress appropriately and bring a change of clothes. We encourage you to bring your own water guns!
