About the Presentation:
Aerodynamic Analyses in Industrial Applications:

The presentation gives an overview of the aerodynamic component of the weapons development process from preliminary design through detailed design, CFD analyses, wind tunnel testing, separation analyses, simulation modeling, and flight testing.  Some discussions of current challenges are presented as well as the successes associated with high-fidelity modeling.  The talk gives a glimpse of the typical activities associated with aerospace engineering, and how difficult challenges are addressed.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Glenn Gebert, Ph.D received his B.A. in Mathematics from Carroll College, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering both from the University of Notre Dame.  He has taught numerous, undergraduate and graduate, aerospace and mechanical engineering courses at the University of Notre Dame, University of Florida, and Utah State University.  He has published over 35 technical papers in the fields of unsteady aerodynamics, optimizations, computational fluid dynamics, high angle of attack aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, and turbulent boundary layer control.  He is currently the Lead Aerodynamicist and Technical Fellow of Aerodynamics at Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control in Orlando where he supports multiple weapon systems development programs for the US Air Force, Navy, Army, and DARPA.
