About the Presentation:

On 9/11/2001, we all watched as the news covered the details of the attacks on New York City and the fall of the Twin Towers.  The #2 news story of the day was the aircraft impacting the Pentagon, and the aftermath that resulted.  The story of what happened that day is an amazing exploration into how our societal systems work for us during the worst of circumstances, and how they fail us.  The events that led up to the Pentagon event, and all of the following activities, are a lesson in how various systems and capabilities tie together in very unexpected ways, and how the lessons learned have impacted the Washington, DC area.  These lessons need to be shared to provide other communities, including our own, the insights needed to stand united should similar circumstances befall us.  The presentation covers the events of that day at the Pentagon, how they related to the NYC events, and how the local community handled all of the second and third order effects of the attacks.

About The Speaker:

David Grow is an INCOSE-Orlando member and the Immediate Past President of the International Test and Evaluation Association's Central Florida Chapter.  Dave's military and engineering credentials are well known, but he also spent the timeframe before 9-11 working with law enforcement and first responders on identifying and securing common/shared capability requirements, while also working gang abatement issues within his own neighborhood.  After 9-11, Dave leveraged these first responder contacts to learn what had happened at the Pentagon in great detail, and has given this presentation to many Defense, Professional, and Social groups over the years.  Dave will take this information and provide the insights and understandings of what truly occurred in ways that the media could not cover given the larger magnitude issues in NYC that day.
