About the Presentation:

Today, software solutions are used aiming to support employees with almost every task, related to their area of work. As associated requirements are being re-shaped in parallel to the changing business needs, as well as, immensely improving technology, organizations continuously try to adapt by trying 'better' solutions and various training management approaches. We suggest that, rather than only being a process within adaptation efforts, software training management emerges as a component of an organization as it directly affects the outcomes and duration of achieving the state of growth while improving the organization’s system stability. The related research focuses on capturing this complexity driven from its interaction with other systems using a model-based systems engineering approach.

About The Speaker:

Asli Soyler Akbas, is PhD student continuing at the Institute for Modeling and Simulation (IST) at the University of Central Florida. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering from the Yeditepe University, Master of Engineering degree in Engineering Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems from the University of Central Florida with specialization in Interactive Simulation. Her current research interests focus on development of adaptive and interactive training environments for individuals and teams, performance analysis using systems dynamics and UML/SySML based system designs. She has publications in disaster management, model-based systems engineering, and adaptive training applications. She has served in a collaboration project between US Army Core of Engineers (USACE) and UCF that developed a simulation based environment for disaster damage assessment. Currently, she is working part-time at Institute for Advance Systems Engineering and at Siemens Energy, as a research assistant and a graduate tech, respectively in Orlando, FL.
