EDDIE PEPITONE | MONDAY MARCH 4, 9PM
Eddie Pepitone is an Apocalyptic-American (with a conscience) and a master of the dark art of comedy. Hailed as Don Rickles meets Eckhart Tolle, “The Bitter Buddha” is a force of nature onstage, switching between social rage and self-doubt. Eddie’s recurred on programs like Community, Conan, and the Sarah Silverman Program and was seen opposite Will Ferrell in the feature Old School.
Eddie Pepitone's UK debut at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe was lauded as “jaw-achingly hilarious” and a “tour-de-force.” His album “A Great Stillness” debuted on Billboard’s Comedy Top 10 and he is the subject of the new documentary “The Bitter Buddha”.
QUOTES ABOUT EDDIE PEPITONE:
The AV Club: “directly descended from the Patron Saint Of Alt-Comedy, Bill Hicks.”
Robin Williams: “Eddie Pepitone is an extraordinary hybrid. The comedic content of George Carlin and the vocal volume of Ethel Merman. Brace yourself.”
Huffington Post: “deftly vacillates between genial approachability and duck-and-cover rage.”
Spin: “cracked genius”
The Skinny: “jaw-achingly hilarious… maybe the best solo stand-up performance you'll see at the Fringe.”
Chortle: “the best of both worlds – the passionate rants of a big-issues comedian combined with the more inward-looking comedy of the smart, detached deconstructionalists” / “tour-de-force”
Nerdist: "a maelstrom of hilarity and rage for which 'unique' is an understatement."
LA Weekly: “Pepitone's goddamn funny and he's a screaming on the outside, laughing at himself and crying on the inside, transcendent clown.”
